SRM Student Leadership Board

Below is brief overview of the duties that will be assigned and expected from each Student Board member

President

  • Serve as the student board leader, and prepare the board agendas for each meeting
  • Be present at any higher meetings Director requests, and be advocate for all SRM members
  • Preside at all board meetings & run them effectively
  • Open & close all meetings with prayer
  • Communicate with Director on decisions made in meetings and be able to effectively be the voice of the members of the ministry
  • Send a monthly email to the students of the ministry
  • Work with Director on planning the Leadership Board Retreat that will take place spring 2017

VP of Member Development

  • VPMD is the 1st Vice President and serves in the absence of the President
  • Oversees leadership development to all board members by leading devotions at board meetings
  • Able to speak about every SRM member and provide board ideas to serve them better- individually and as a group 
  • Responsible for initiating involvement and on-boarding with new members to the ministry
  • Work with Director on creating and adopting a 'Ministry On-boarding' process
  • Will bring new ideas to meetings every month on how to recruit new SRM members
  • In charge of uploading 'Weekly Inspirations' on SRM website

VP of Communication

  • Provide monthly reports & analytics to board members on how effective our communication to our members & the public are
  • Responsible for uploading all calendar events to website, TeamStuff, and MailChimp if needed
  • In charge of all social media posts
  • Work with Director on crucial emails and announcements that need to be sent out to SRM members
  • Create, implement, and manage new 'Prayer Request' tab on website
  • Take all handed down 'duties to assign' from Director and send out via TeamStuff and/or Crew
  • Send a 'thank you card' to a different staff member of TMUMC each month

VP of Philanthropy

  • Responsible for finding, presenting and creating 3 community service ideas at each monthly board meeting
  • Research and present new opportunities to serve and/or support individuals, groups, or charities
  • Coordinate all service projects & coordinate with SRM members
  • Communicate with TMUMC Communications department on upcoming opportunities for others to get involved
  • Work with Director on creating, organizing, planning, and implementing 'annual' SRM service event
  • Overseeing monthly community service events
  • Educate members on the importance of the SRM mission and living through our mission

IMPORTANT DATES TO KNOW:

NOMINEE LIST POSTED TO SRM: Friday, Nov. 18th

FRIENDSHIP CAMPAIGNING: Due Monday, Nov 21st

You will be instructed on sending in a message via text or email, highlighting and advocating for SRM members running for the same position(s) as you. These compliments are meant to lift up the members you are campaigning for in positive ways. This board election is not a competition and it is important to remember our friendships...and how Christ has instructed us to live; to which that is the most important over everything else. So have fun with this.

You will also be asked for details about what YOU want to bring to this position.

VOTING!

VOTING OPEN: Friday, November 26th (12a-6p)

Each SRM member will receive an email, instructing them to send in their vote. A voter registration number will be assigned, so that the collegiate outside party collecting the results will be able to make sure votes are counted equally. This will also ensure your ballot remains anonymous. 

TALLYING SYSTEM:

SRM STUDENTS: 5 point for each vote (one vote per position, per SRM member)

DIRECTOR: 5 points for each vote (one vote per position)
